Yeah, he's right about the kick every beat and hi-hat on the ands of the beats (the off beats). I assume you're still using FL? On the hi-hat track, try just mixing up the rhythm a little, even it's just clicking random squares. Oh, and where you have the hits at :50 and 1:00 ish, try making the synth follow the drum hits. That might sound cool.

Hey this is pretty good, until 2:00
OK so I was listening to this and I was picturing a butterfly flying higher.....higher...past the trees...higher...so majestic as it goes past the clouds, so loving and tender as it sources above any bird! So beautiful and peaceful and then WHOOOSH!! The butterfly is sucked into a jet engine and torn to shreads and burned by the the intense heat and the ashes fall and land on a bunny and the bunny is then beaten by a 12 year old with a softball bat! In other words, the synth at 2:00 is in a different key.
